The Mysteries of Udolpho was written in 1794 by Ann Radcliffe and is considered one of the preeminent Gothic romances. It is very long—the 1980 Oxford University Press paperback edition of Udolpho is about 672 pages. My aim is to place online a version of the 1980 Oxford edition, maintaining the exact printed format to facilitate online reading and reference. The contents of any page from the print edition should exactly match the page contents here.

I have completed 441 pages as of February 2005 (about two-thirds of the text). Either the table of contents or the controls at the bottom of each page may be used to access later portions of the book, and a browser bookmark will save your place. The font and size of text can also be customized to the reader's wishes. I will be adding a search form in the future (if you want one sooner, let me know here).
